advantages:
to make the x aixs lighter. so you can increase the moving speed … less vibration makes the surface of the model much better.

disadvantages:.
…I don’t know…I just finished that modification, it seems working very good after I changed the guide tube… but I think the stepper motor needs to consume much more power.

if I get any problems of it ,I will show the problems to us. :)…

Disadvantages - retraction becomes difficult and stringing. Also, the tube may bind and the extruder may not be able to push the filament.

@Christopher_Hills exactly!!! I got good idea to solve this problem. I used a lighter to link the last part of filament with new filament together before it‘s running out . ~~Then polish the joint.

HO-LEE-LOUD. May want to adjust the current on your stepper motors.
