After owning a @Open_Builds OX CNC machine for a few months (designed by @Mark_Carew_OpenBuild ), I’ve now been looking at upgrading the design to suit my needs better.

By combining some great ideas that I’ve seen on other builds I’ve come up with the following design.

The design still has quite a way to go though I thought this would be a great time to get some opinions/feedback from other users.

Enhancements so far:
C-Beams used on all axes.
Acme screws rather than belts.
Spindle positioned more centrally to gantry wheels (CoG and maximised bed use).
Combination of Mini and Full size wheels to limit beam flex.
Sandwiched beams to reduce fixing flex.

Thanks

Great looking build.

great

Very nice +Simon Day ! I would like to ask if you will be willing to start a build and share your build details to OpenBuilds. This is a great update to the OX that many Builders in the community will benefit from. Thank you in advance and again awesome job!

@Mark_Carew_OpenBuild not a problem at all! Just like my IndieLC 3D printer I will upload the full design along with diagrams once I’m happy with the design!

Have you thought of a one click button system for build pages to add all the parts to a basket on your parts page?
