This is bottom side of thin case (1mm total thickness) first layer sucks! Using PLA, printer is a China special closest I can find is it’s a copy of a geetech i3 pro B. Currently at 225c extruder 60c bed 50ms print speed extruder set 105% 110% wasn’t much better. Slicing with craftware.Just setting up a temp and extruder tower to fine tune those two but any other ideas? Nozzle is the original one that has maybe printed 2-3kg/rolls of PLA
Also check the hobbed gear or bolt in your extruder, if there’s a bunch of ground up plastic in the teeth clean it out. This looks a little too random for that, but it’s still a good thing to do periodically anyway.
Increase the first layer extrusion to 150-200% and try it. I’ve had these same results and played excessively with settings to resolve. IMO this is under extruded and the filament is not adhering to the bed. When I increased the first layer percentage the results were dramatic. Also, like @David_McGuigan mentioned, whip out the caliper and check the filament diameter. I’ve got filament that’s sometimes sized at in the 1.8mm range.
Well thing I solved my high temp PLA print issue found the guide sleeve was too far through my heat block meaning my nozzle was only in the heatblock by 1-2 turns. Rectified that and re-levelled my bed now have a extrusion issue cant et a first layer at all! Using afeeler gauge to level and filament average is 1.77mm. Stopped now as likely to throw it out the window will continue tomorrow!
First raise bed temp with another 10 degrees. Check your nozzle. Seems like your nozzle is not 90 degrees to your bed. I had this before and found that my hotend was just slightly askew. My hotend was hanging about 5 degrees forward. Straightened the hotend and it was fine after that. This was my experience but yours could be different. Just try it.
@Rob_Ayers make sure your PLA isn’t “junk” just because it’s damp. Are you keeping your filament in a dry/dried environment? I keep all mine in a dehumidified cabinet…
