After reading @Mark_Wheadon 's recent post, I thought I’d play with a simple spiral vase tealight holder changing the printing speed on a flat surface. My first attempt (10x16 w/2 colors) came out okay but the second (230x296 w/16 colors) was probably a bit ambitious (but topical). I’ll probably try it again with the image scaled down a bit more first (and after making sure the screws on the arms of my delta are tight).
Nice
That surface is flat? If that is flat with only surface texture and opacity changes then you’ve got yourself a decent optical illusion as well.
@Mark_Wheadon No. It is not flat. The extrusion is narrower in the fast sections; it is under-extruded.
This is something I’m very interested in trying out. I want to use bamboofill and use the speed to make it darker and lighter to simulate wood grain.
