All, I have been looking at the 3535 SK6812 integrated driver leds, but I was also looking for a flexible pcb that I can attach them to. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Ideally I would like to do a matrix of these and have them much closer than a strip would allow. The other aspect I would like to do is have be a little flexible as I would like to apply them to curves.
If you would really like to go the DIY route for flexible LED panels you can purchase some pyralux. I know Adafruit sells it on their site. I was able to get a hold of a sample from DuPont themselves. You can chemically etch it like a regular copper PCB and then solder your LEDs to it. Im actually working on doing that myself. A slow process thou with 3D printing using up most of my available funds lol
Thank you for the suggestion! I like the idea of it being clear. A realization would be to use foil tape then a clear lighting gel or overhead sheet. Thanks for the help!
I think you will find strips are best for this application – check out wow_elec_tron and his work on instagram – he does exactly what you are trying to do with 144 LED/m strips: https://www.instagram.com/wow_elec_tron/?hl=en
@Leon_Yuhanov Of course, I love your work. Been meaning to reach out to you at some point about the possibility of a collaboration for my YouTube channel…
I do all kinds of different builds – you’ll want to check out the Rings of Saturn light (and maybe the 2x4 Chandelier) to see FastLED in use. https://www.youtube.com/c/ModustrialMaker
