Almost forgot I have this PEI Dauerdruckplatten? straight from Germany. As far as I know, no one makes this here in US. I purchased some from the seller and he gave me this black one for free. “Courtesy of Frank” so other can try it.
technically it’s mine but it’s not mine to keep so any ideas how I can pass this on to anyone interested to try this plate? I think I should keep this to US only thx
The plate fits regular i3 setup y carriage mounting hole
@Step_Cia A friend and I are building a set of itopies right now. I would love for a chance to try this! I could throw this in the new printer or my older one. I am a high schooler near Boston.
Edit: If I wanted to get like 3 of these to whom should I go to? Thanks!
Just to be clear this is not a giveaway…, the intend is to try and pass it on to other so they can try it too and so on and so forth. I may need to come up with a rule but I’m open to any suggestion
It’s a very flat aluminium plate with a thin layer of PEI. The PEI is bonded in a way that it will stay stuck to the aluminium. I have crashed my nozzle several times into the Dauerdruckplatte but the PEI layer is still intact.
I don’t think “layer” of PEI is appropriate to decribe the plate. Google translate gives you “impregnated” with PEI. I don’t exactly know the treatment process but there are no layer to peel here and you use them as is. It’s a solid aluminum.
The plates are not a bad price – interesting. FWIW the PEI sheet I got from gizmodorks and then glued to my regular (round) glass bed is working really, really well on my Kossel Mini. For PLA at least (haven’t tried ABS) it’s the dog’s whiskers – glossy surface, no glue, prints beautifully, then comes off the bed when cold without a struggle.
