Along with the AX-02, I’ve now got my 2 into 1 Dual extrusion, dubbed the Hydra System, working properly, with inspiration taken from several sources including the Prometheus system. I grabbed some HPV PEEK rod stock and had it turned down by a friend to a 1.9mm bore, 4mm outer diameter. I have the main body of the splitter printed in Nylon to provide a smooth path. The main issue after that is the GCode, with the keys being a short fast retract, followed by a fast shorter insert then a longer fast retract to G4 Dwell in the HPV tube whilst in the heatsink. I couldn’t get it to print reliably until the G4 was put in, that as the final piece of the puzzle, many thanks to @DisTech_Automation for making their Tool change GCode freely available. It’s now running it’s first proper test after finally nailing the Tool change script you can see it working at http://printers.sledz-uk.co.uk

@raykholo

I’ve been playing with my splitter again today, filament jams on the way back into the E3D.

It’s taken me a while to get it right. I think there’s about 20 odd prints of various versions of the splitter. I made sure that I was as close to 2mm in the splitter as possible with the hole in CAD being at a 200 micron tolerance. That allows for a well supported path but allows for the filament move freely.

There’s basically 3 pieces to getting it right the well supported path through the splitter, the HPV tube and the Tool Change script. It may still work with standard PTFE tube, the key is the G4. It allows the filament to cool before fully retracting it.

Files and GCode can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1926351

Do you have the HPV tube in yours or are we referencing what Prometheus does?
Eric’s got screenshots of the scripts in Cura if you haven’t seen this yet: https://www.distechautomation.com/pages/pro-sys-guide

Both, I have an HPV tube and that’s where I got the final piece of the Tool Change puzzle to get it working, the G4, apart from I leave a bit longer to be on the safe side.

Where’d you get the HPV tube?
No success this evening. I tried both your toolchange gCode in S3D and the Prometheus PURGE-RETRACT and FEED scripts in Repetier-Host. In both cases the plug is formulating wide so the reshape is still off and it won’t go back in a second time.
I am using the Chinese TL-Feeder Y with Titans - they are powerful enough that they strip the filament as soon as it jams. The feeder came with 1.9mm ID, 4mm OD PTFE tube,
Back in the days of the E3D BigBox, they figured out a “scripted cold pull” which would extrude quickly (into a dump bucket) in order to get rid of any latent heat of PLA sitting in the nozzle, then retract, and this ramming action was said to reliably retract filament without a plug forming. I will try to adjust for something like that next.

The Tube I had made. I picked up some HPV rod stock and had it turned down by a friend.

Your first image is dead.

I’ve checked on my phone on 4G, off the internal network and it’s working fine. It does die from time to time, refreshing the page usually works

@Ax_Smith-Laffin weird. I tried refresh a few times. What format is it? I am on an android 6 tablet.

Mjpeg. they’re both MJPEG Streamer feeds.
