Always be sure to double check your wiring/pins before soldering/connecting. I have one set of WS2811 strips that are Data|5V|Ground and another set that otherwise look identical that are 5V|Data|Ground. Thankfully, for me, it was only a 5 led test strip that I made go sizzle.
