An easy way to upgrade from ramps to Smoothie.

An easy way to upgrade from ramps to Smoothie. Now there is no excuse to not upgrade.

I recently did (though not this specific board) and was blown away by the results.

Re-ARM controller Kickstarter is live. Please help me spread the word.

Thanks.

This look very interesting. Is there a pin out available? Also, do you know if it has the same number and type of “spare” pins available as the Mega 2560?

@Roy_Cortes Can you please provide the information…

Do i get any upgrades to my normal prusa i2 with this 32bit update. I understand biggest result get if you have Delta printer. Firmware update/settings are easy with sd card that is one +. I control my 3d printer with octoprint via wlan. Because that i use normal USB connection with this new board too.

Nice to hear some opinions if some one other is updating 8bit -->32bit same situation.

@LassiVVV please see my write-up on the upgrade process and how I could visibly see a difference in the motion of the printer after moving to Smoothie. I have a Cartesian printer and I was still blown away with the results. https://3dprinterchat.com/2016/10/smoothiefy-your-3d-printer/

Ok thanks. need to read that. Has nowadays smoothie some auto mesh leveling system on normal printers or only delta?

Pledged! Thanks for the Kickstarter link.

@LassiVVV Smoothie has auto mesh leveling for Cartesian printers too.

Compatable with Marlin?

@Panayiotis_Savva no. This runs on a 32-bit board. But upgrading is very very easy. Transfer some settings and you’re done. See my post above - it shows exactly how I upgraded (though not specifically this board )

Pledged one. Can’t wait to try this.

Let’s see if the Marlin Team @Scott_Lahteine can support this board in Marlin.

I’ve also pledged on the kickstarter campaign.

I’m intrigued!

@Panayiotis_Savva I think the main intent of this board is to move forward to a 32-bit system - specifically Smoothieware in this case.

Anyone know where to find the pinout for this board?

@Dushyant_Ahuja , the Marlin Team is looking for a 32 bit board for official Marlin support.

This looks like a good drop in replacement for the Arduino Mega.

I’ll open a feature request with them.

Marlin is awesome

Fully funded.

In for one. Upgrade without having to rewire everything.

Would this board work with the RADDS controller which also sits on the Mega and Due footprint?

I’ve ordered the ethernet version  But I wonder if the mosfets on my Chinese RAMPS will fully saturate when driven by the 3.3V gate voltage of the RE-ARM.

@Bajdi_Electronics Did you read the description? The mosfets are driven with 5V.
