An extruder and hotend made specifically for flexible filaments - but could it be over-optimized for regular use?

interesting mechanism to clean the hobbed wheel
Excellent review!
@Marcus_Wolschon hat that on my first printer. Was a pink toothbrush on the hobbed bolt/drive screw. Worked fine and held a looooong time
this is cool but a) never had a problem with this kind of screw on my own designed extruder and b) on flexible filament never had any tear of the filament so i dont get it lol
@VolksTrieb
Thanks for the assessment.
I find that the main thing that makes a given extruder work better with flexible is to have a PTFE guide tube snug (with no chuck or very minimal gap), to the intake and output of the drive & idler. This is often a very easy mod. An adjustable tension on the idler would be a bonus.
@Jeff_DeMaagd yes thats correct. Will upload a pic of my version which does not have ptfe in it. Works so good
but for an existing extruder yes thats all you need
Hey! Did you try to do something like this?
It seems like a great break through when it comes to printing robust parts.
Is it worth to invest into it?
Please do video about it! You are great!
Hey Thomas, Do you want to try the BPS V3 Extruder?
@Bill_Yang are you advertising for them?
@Jeff_DeMaagd just to see if Thomas want to try out my extruder.
