Another stepper motor deal is up at massdrop.

Another stepper motor deal is up at massdrop.

$50 for 5 seems like a great deal, but I’m not sure about the specs. Does someone more knowledgeable want to weigh in on whether these are worth it?

Looked at it but the specs are no specs ! I’ll see how the 4 I got work out before I buy again.

@William_Frick I added them to the post to save others the hassle of hunting for them.

That’s a good idea regarding the previous massdrop stepper deal. Does anyone have feedback to offer from their previous order?

Seems to be OK. It’s a standard 1.8º 4 wires and the Holding Torque: 59Ncm (http://83.6oz.in) is OK. The final performance depends on the manufacturing quality. Maybe I add to the deal.

For what its worth I’m running http://56oz.in motors on my prusa i3 so these should be more than enough to run a printer.

I’m going to bet these are the same ones as the 4-pack they had earlier. I bought a set of those, but have not tried them yet. Too bad they didn’t have sets of 5 the first time!

Yep, these have the exact same specs as the ones from the previous 4-pack (which i’m still waiting for). According to the specifications, these have the highest torque of any NEMA17 stepper out there, yet are rated at just 2A, which our drivers should be able to manage. The high torque and comparatively low current might come at the expense of slightly reduced performance at higher speeds.
Considering they are just $10 per piece, it’s hard to go wrong with them, though.

I just picked up 2 more packs. I already have some surplus but I plan to build more printers to sell soon.

I’m still waiting on my filament. They just got the red in right as I had them switch my order to the yellow. so they held off and are going to ship me the red.

I figure some time this year I might get it.

I tried 2 of the steppers I got from the last Massdrop they work fine, I haven’t put them to work in a machine doing prints but I did a quick test on a ramps board I have and they seem to perform normal.

FYI I think these are more powerful than the other ones, I believe the other ones were rated at 72oz. and these are 83.6oz. It seems like the old link to the 4 drives has been overridden by the new 5 motor deal making it impossible to compare them but for $10.70 a piece including shipping I am not complaining.
