Another teaser on my SD3 rebuild using Smoothie and other custom goodies. Imagine my surprise when I hooked up the original LED array to the power supply (PSU), no power got to LEDs or the board. So I split the LEDs to run off an old laptop ‘brick’ PSU and connected it via the terminal block you see in the pictures. I also mounted my all metal extruder, now on the outside and did a motion test to confirm I can move in X and Y without binding. Finally, you don’t see it here but I connected the hot end and thermistor and very shortly I will do a heat test and then wire in the heatbed too. The final step will be to install the door before we get to calibration. I have accomplished much by printing parts I need or repurposing older stuff left over from other builds. Stay Tuned…
