Any good alternative to Rumba Electronics for 3D printing?

What i need:

  • 24V support with ideally 12V step down for the fans (Motors and heaters are ok with 24V)
  • 3 different Fan out channels (Mosfets, PWM)
  • maybe some additional 12V out for LEDs
  • ≥4 stepper drivers

The only real alternative to the Rumba i know of is the Azteeg X3 Pro but it’s availability here in Europe is quite awful. Maybe i should contact them to at least get a board for testing?!

Have you looked at the CRAMPS board? (http://reprap.org/wiki/CRAMPS) It has 24V support, it has 2 fan channels but you can add a third by using the expansion add-on board, 6 steppers. The challenges that all of these things have is the sheer number of GPIOs you need to do all that stuff.

didn’t know of that Cramps - is it available to buy anywhere? I need it to be available, otherwise it won’t fit my needs.

I just ordered one from Pico-systems (http://pico-systems.com/osc2.5/catalog/index.php?cPath=5) but it hasn’t arrived yet.

I’ve been drooling over the Duet from RepRapPro all week. It’s a new 32bit board and the firmware for it looks like a really badass version of Marlin.

The Duet has some great features. I don’t know if the RepRapPro firmware is badass or not  but soon I hope to have Marlin running on Duet as well. That will make migration easier for existing Marlin users, and opens up Delta support which I think the RepRapPro firmware doesn’t have yet.
