Any suggestions? Alternatives? Recomendations?
I’m looking for my first 3D printer with a small budget (below 200€) and currently have one of the following prusa i3 china clones in mind:

  • geeetech I3 pro C dual extruder

  • Anet A8 -Big community, well known pros and cons.

  • Anet A6 (Plus) - claimed to be the newer version of the A8. A6 Plus has a better Display and more conmfortable controls but A6 Plus seems to be incompatible with auto leveling.

  • Anet A2 most parts metal rails instead of acrylic but extruder and cooling looks not so good. I’m not sure how stable the construction really is.

I’ve seen/heard good things about the A8. I don’t own one right now (getting one soon) but there’s a Facebook community dedicated to it. Prints look decent. Nothing amazing but for $200 pretty respectable. That’s my vote

I really wouldn’t recommend anything cheaper than the Monoprice Maker Select V2 for $330 USD. All metal parts and most common printer design. Average 4 stars out of nearly 250 reviews on Amazon.

I looked at the Anet A8, A6, and A2. The A2 has a lot less community support, but has a metal frame and has a bowden setup already. I ordered the A2 from Gearbest (Just ordered 2 days ago) while it was on sale for $179.

Forgot to mention the A2 I bought was the A2 Plus. It also has the bigger build area. 220 x 220 x 280

@Steven_Hoff_Gigabyte Never found any review, test, printed test objects or anything from the A2 to compare the printers. Is it really good? What are your impressions? Also the A2 is not listed on the website of Anet.

@Harald_Beck The Anet A8 is a clone of the Prusa i3. The Prusa i3 is open source. The A2 is a actually a clone of the Tevo Tarantula which is a Prusa i3 variant.

The Anet version has some improvements of the Tevo such as having the electronics all nicely mounted.

@Harald_Beck if you get the Anet A2 Plus it also has a slightly larger build volume than if you get the large version of the Tarantula. 220x220x280 versus 200x200x280

This is the version I’ve ordered. I can let you know how it fairs when I get it in.

@Steven_Hoff_Gigabyte be careful about posting please, it looks like you posted the same thing 3 times.

Sorry about that. I don’t how I did that. I deleted the duplicates.
