Any suggestions?
Second print just came off…
I lowered the ESteps from 385 to 355.
I increased retraction from 2mm to 4mm.
Much less stringy now.
Still is ugly…
What drive gear are you using?
MK8 and 624 2RS bearing with Nema 17 motor, bowden setup
What material and extruder temp
PLA at 60mm/s
180 Deg printing temp
I usually print pla at 190 but it does vary by brands
Is it a 1.8 or .9 degree stepper?
All your calibrations done in specific order?
If you have 1.8 sef steppers try a value of 152 for your esteps.
Try marking off 100mm of filament then extrude 100mm. See how close you are. Tom has a great video showing how to do it: https://youtu.be/YUPfBJz3I6Y
If you don’t measure you are just guessing.
It is 1.8 Deg steppers.
I’ll try the calibration again.
First time I tried, I managed to get 100mm to extrude, but when I connected the Hotend to print, it was over extruding to a very large degree…
I’ll try again.
I’d say you still have some slop in at least one axis, albeit just a small amount. Make sure all your belts and pulleys are tight and your print head is secure. There should be absolutely no play in anything.
