Any word on the @Printrbot Simple Heated bed release date Mr. @Brook_Drumm ? You had mentioned in another thread for a competing bed that it was “Coming Soon” but that was the last I had heard.

Thanks in advance for any insight you might be able to provide.

I would recommend printrbot to more people if this were a thing.

Low Cost, high speed, high accuracy. Pick 2. When cost becomes low enough, pick 1. The simple is designed for the first item, while their other products converge on speed and accuracy.
Brook won’t let people down by not offering options for upgrades, but cost becomes an issue quickly.

@Stephanie_A no doubt, I agree wholeheartedly. I am just looking for some sort of time frame if that is possible. The only reason I have the nerve to ask is that Brook made a point to post in the thread of another compatible heated bed for the simple that his was coming soon. Sort of subliminally telling others to hold off.

I am just eager to start printing in some other materials and hoping the wait is almost over.

If cost was the main concern, I wouldn’t recommend Printrbot at all, because high quality DIY printers can be built for less than $500. I recommend Printrbot as enough quality for entry level. However, a lot of people I have talked to (of the small sample set of like 3) are put off by PLA only.

I’ve been looking at this little guy… http://r.ebay.com/yIoQVb

The heater itself shouldn’t me much of a problem, assuming the Printrboard itself didn’t leave off the heated bed support (no experience with it, myself). I’m more interested in reliable mounting, strain relief, insulation and so on.
