anybody Knows that guys: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/662229155/formaker-4-in-1-cnc-mill-laser-pcb-3-d-printer-all?ref=category_newest Seems to be too cheap for doing well all that stuff.
Seems a little too good to be true
to be honest it could be less expensive
anyway i doubt it will reach delivery …
Seems to cheap to believe. I’m looking into it though.
I have a CTC replicator 2 clone. It’s on par with the Flashforge. I think this is more of a publicity thing than a true kickstarter. CTC is a big company and I don’t think they need the fund to get going.
Oh I didn’t realize it was by CTC. Maybe it is believable.
Cnc on this machine? Seriously???
@Sven_Eric_Nielsen , it will work great for plastic and lighter wood, in the end it’s all about force and settings, you can work some alu without having much stress on the machine. But it won’t make any 5mm passes on a iron sheet metal piece. So it won’t be considered a real cnc on most hardcore cnc forums
- CTC’s 3d printers are low-quality and consistently have serious electrical problems
- This is mechanically just a Replicator 1 clone with laser and spindle attachments
- 8mm round rods, plastic end brackets, and short-stack NEMA 17s are grossly inadequate for any kind of milling work heavier than balsa wood or styrofoam
- Strapping a laser into a machine filled with flammable plastic parts and lacking a real enclosure is insanely dangerous
Stay away.
Definitely a publicity stunt. They see it as selling as many products as soon as possible… There is no sense of growth, or community. And not even a video (edit* I see the videos now :p)
@Alex_Bolderoff what? There were several videos when I checked the kickstarter video.
Ok, I see them now. When I looked, there was a few paragraphs of text, and no videos.
@Anton_Fosselius
I have a rep2x and the kinematic is exactly the same shit. Plastic and wobble everywhere. Believe me, with 3d printing the machine is almost on its limits
