Anybody seen this? They are discontinuing the cube series and the printers are really cheap. Only problem is working around the cartridges… Any ideas or opinions? I ordered one for the hell of it
Might be worth it just to scrap for parts. Curious what the inside looks like. The other Cube models I’ve seen torn down are full of pretty nice parts and precision CNC structural elements.
As long as it comes with at least one cartridge you could try to do what this guy did: http://hackaday.com/2013/04/26/cube-3d-printer-hack-lets-you-use-bulk-filament/
It comes with two
Is the nozzle on these built into the cartridge?
The hacks are kinda finicky but I’m willing to do anything to escape the cartridges. Did it with my davinci a while back. Now if I can get repetier on it…
@Scott_Wells yes
Someone get this, gut it, and put a smoothie inside.
I was really thinking about putting a different board inside. The extruder motors are 24 volt …
Those supposedly have genuine THK rails, which makes the parts alone worth more that the cost of buying the thing.
Never heard of thosr before… Are they just really good rails?
@Abc_Def Yep. Very good rails.
I’ve been watching vids on this printer… Damn the quality is amazing
