anyone bought filament from Disonbor in China?

anyone bought filament from Disonbor in China? Really sharp price (37USD) for a 1KG roll of HIPS with EMS shipping included.

We have it for only a few dollars more (although you do have to add another $5 for flat rate shipping). EDIT: D’oh, forgot that you’re not US based! Sorry!

What is the appeal of HIPS ? Support material ? Can it be used without a heated bed ?

HIPS dissolves in limonene, which makes it usable as a dissolvable support material. It sticks reasonably well to ABS but does not fuse the same as ABS on ABS, so it also makes for a nice breakway support.

I have been using it for supports and it works great. It doesn’t ooze like ABS does while printing and because it doesn’t bond perfectly to ABS, it is easy to break away without leaving lots of marks on the ABS surface.

it dissolves quite easily in Limonene, but be careful with your object. often the layers are not perfectly watertight and you can end up with liquid inside the object. you might want to try drilling drain holes in the bottom to make sure all the limonene can drain out before any other post processing (like vapor polishing)

I bought mine from MakerGeeks and it has been great. They have good customer service in case you run into issues. They are asking #39 with free shipping.

Thanks @Mike_Downey They don’t do free shipping out of the states so it’s not a good option for me I’m afraid. I’m going to take a punt on this stuff and post my findings.
Do you have a picture of the completed print?

@Tim_Rastall here is the completed print. I had a few delamination issues I need to fix (need to tweak the temperatures a little) and my smoothing chamber is a little small, but it turned out pretty well. http://www.thingiverse.com/make:52410
