Anyone currently uses multiplexing to control additional hotends/feeders besides Prusa? We intend to upgrade the magnetic tool changer with a 3rd head later this year and we want to keep the original Ultimaker board and our customized Marlin firmware.
I am doing it with a Ramps board controlling 5 extruders on a diy printer. Extruder board connects to the Ramps via I2c. Extruder board uses a Nano and a demux chip.

+Scott Lewis not at the moment, it’s a work in progress but seems very stable. I’m willing to share what I have of the schematic and code.
