Anyone in here use a cnc router parts brand router table with the plug and play electronics kit? I’m thinking about getting the 4x4 kit with nema 34 plug and play set up but would rather source my own spindle and vfd as it would be cheaper than Wat they r asking g for their spindle kit. Just curious how much changing would have to be done to use a different spindle than Wat their electronics kit is set up for
First off, I have no experience with what you are asking about. I would imagine, if the kit you are contemplating drives a vfd to drive their included spindle then, driving a different vfd would be no problem. My statement is just my under-informed opinion/impression.
True their plug and play system has a 14 pin socket that works with their spindle box setup. Everything is already pre-wired was just curious if it would be a simple thing to adapt a different vfd and spindle to their pre-configured setup. I’m coming from an ox machine with a 400w spindle so there’s alot about the bigger spindles I don’t kno but have been doing as kich research as possible. I do kno they use an ethernet smoothstepper to control everything
Is there documentation for their system? If so it should be ok. Be warned of the vsd that comes with the eBay spindles, everyone said they were trouble and mine played up after a month or so. Spindle seems good though.
From wat i can find there isn’t much documentation on it other than setting things up but that’s just basically plugging g in the connectors to the control box and then some settings in Mach 3.
