Anyone know of a better print bed surface for 618/645 or laybrick?

Anyone know of a better print bed surface for 618/645 or laybrick? played around this weekend with a few specialty filaments.

5 Speciality Filaments - Had some time this weekend to mess around with Laywood, Laybrick, PET, and 618/645 Nylon from Taulman.

I’ve had success printing nylon onto garolite sheets. Specifically, garolite roughed up with 50, then 200 grit sandpaper, and with disappearing purple glue stick applied in a very thin layer, then heated to 70c.

For larger flat objects 100c seems to hold the corners better, but even at 70c the warping isn’t catastrophic (but is definitely noticeable on big flat things).

If you get it stuck too well (which has happened, especially if you let the print cool to room temperature while still on the printbed) just take the garolite off and run water over it to dissolve the glue and it’ll pop right off.

i’ll have to look for that and try that method, i’d really like to get a sharp low warp print from the nylon as its the cheapest and most durable it would seem.

This is what I’m using right now: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006VYGTOK/

And this is what I’ve heard of others using: http://www.mcmaster.com/#grade-le-garolite

The Amazon link is pretty thin, so it might be prone to warping at a larger size, but on a 150x150mm bed it stays flat when clipped at the four corners.

I’ve tried a couple different kinds of glue sticks, and they both worked, but fresher seems to be better. I also suspect any kind of PVA glue, thinned down with water and painted on, will work just the same. But I haven’t experimented with it yet.
