Anyone know why I might be getting this issue in an STL file of an object? Trying to help out a customer and when I go to layer view, you see how it’s not a solid object and there are breaks in the print. It does the same thing in Matter Control and Cura.
Can you share the .stl file as well?
I can share it in a PM
Send it. I’ll see if I can repair it.
Try to repair the STL with netfabb https://netfabb.azurewebsites.net/
I think there is http://cloud.netfabb.com too, which I always used to use. Can download the app to do it, or use their webservice
Could be that the sections are too thin. Or that there are internal polygons. The last chould be seen with the XRay view in Cura.
Thanks, will check those options out!
AFAIK, slic3r has a thin-wall option, which will produce at least a 1 layer thick wall for thin features. Cura will remove thin features. I have not found a way around this. Please let me know if there is a Cura option to deal with this. I still keep Slic3r around for situations like when I need that thin-wall option (or hex infill)
