Anyone knows where to order 2020 led strips? I know some manufacturers who have them in development but I haven’t been able to buy them myself.
There’s a company in Korea, but they don’t seem interested in taking my money
I thought adafruit did, but might have been just the individual leds
@James_G , they just sell the LEDs. I’ve got some of those, but they’re a bit tricky to solder!
This company makes them, but they seem to be struggling to keep up with orders, and aren’t interested in new customers, at least for these.

@Jeremy_Spencer Well that won’t stop me from trying. I have a plan for those babies. Thanks for the link
Are you talking about single pixels or 2020 pixels on strip? You can buy single pixels on aliexpress, from Ray Wu. Adafruit also sells them for about 1000% more. If you want strip, you can get apa102 2020 directly form the manufacturer http://www.neon-world.com/en
you can find 2020 matrices soldered up fairly easily…
@Charles_Schmitt_Deta got any links?
@Jeremy_Spencer They are struggling because of poor quality control. I have chated to several AX pixel vendors ALL of whom categorically wont touch the strips with a 10 foot pole. They fail too often, too fast. They are expensive as well at the moment as well, something like $50usd per meter. Worst of all, you can not split the strip up. If you cut it anywhere you need to solder off a pixel and use a microscope to solder connections to it.
Exactly what Leon Yuhanov said, although I have not experienced any failures yet (in a few weeks of having four 1 meter strips). By far the biggest limitation is the need for a microscope and some luck if you want to cut the strip anywhere [and get back in].
I had even inquired about placing a much larger order for half-meter strips, as well as custom higher-density strips. I expressed my willingness to pay but they were uninterested to the point of not even being willing to name a ridiculous price.
With shipping (four days in transit), four one-meter strips of 198 LEDs per meter came to ~$55 per meter.

These are from the neon-world folks.
I also have a couple of the Adafruit 1"x1" 8x8 APA102 2020 matrices. Now those are pretty awesome!
I must say, though, that the 198 LEDs/meter strips are pretty sweet. My real lament is that I’m a hardware guy and I don’t know how to write code to address (as an apparent 396 LEDs/meter strip) two adjacent strips offset from each other by one LED-length. The spacing on the strips is perfect for that. My hope is that there is some elegant solution that I can just plug into whatever code I am already using on various projects… but I haven’t a clue.
(I have built using freely shared code a few half-meter and quarter-meter 144 LEDs / meter POV batons which look awesome but my feeble attempts at the above offset thing have all sadly fizzled.)
