Anyone still using an older Solidoodle?

Anyone still using an older Solidoodle? I’m using a Solidoodle 3 at work and it prints okay but the Slic3r engine installed with Soliprint is so old it doesn’t have infill overlap settings. I’m hesitant to update it and risk losing functionality all together. I tried slicing with Cura 3.1 and importing the gcode into Soliprint but it just runs through the start gcode and doesn’t actually print anything.

I use a Solidoodle3 with Simplify3D.
Upgraded PSU and Hotend (e3dV6).
I wouldn’t go back to free slicers for nuffin’.

@Lukas_Wall do you use Soliprint to push the gcode or S3D?

I have never used soliprint. I was using slic3r/repetier host software it was originally bundled with.

But now Simplify3D does everything for me.

Preview, slice, gcode.

It does it all. Got tired of fighting with “free” software. Well worth the 150$ for a hassel free software experience.

Just b sure to write down all your settings for initial setup… Baud rates and all that

@Lukas_Wall I use S3D personally but they don’t have it at work. Guess I’ll try hooking my laptop up.

Best of Luck

How did it turn out?

Haven’t actually used S3D for it yet, I’ve been working on my main projects. Its not even in the primary farm I’m working with and the farm that it’s in still has another 5 “working” printers so it probably wont be touched for a while. It still prints fairly functional parts but its nothing you would want to display. I just needed it for that week because I had to crank out 300 small prints.
