Anyone using the new 2.6 version of CURA give me some advice?
Trying to find out why its decided to not print the bottom 1-2mm of my prints. I was using Ver15 and moved over to 2.6 for better control.
Bed is level as all thats changed is the software I’m using to slice.
Look in the gcode if it starts at z 0,2 or 0,1 for the first layer, if not change it in the settings otherwise it’s something with your printer
Did cut off bottom of print somehow get set in the new version? I’ve noticed that profiles don’t always translate completely or correctly going from 15 to 2.x.x. Some settings don’t seem to stick.
Okay the only thing I can see where the Z value is modified is this.
retract the filament a bit before lifting the nozzle, to release some of the pressure\nG1 Z+0.5 E-5 X-20 Y-20 F9000
But that doesn’t look to be it at all.
@Jeff_Parish that’s whats happening to me, I’m loosing a bit of the print. But I can’t see why at all in the software.
@Jez_Fairclough If you reveal the “cut off bottom” setting in the new version what does it show? You might have to set it to 0 again even if it states that it is.
@Jeff_Parish I can’t see that as an option. Unless I’m not looking in the right location. There are so many boxes you can tick/untick etc.
@Jonathan_Knirsch it wouldn’t be these settings by any chance?
Printhead Settings
X Min: 20
Y Min: 10
X Max: 10
Y Max 10
Gantry height 55mm
No I’ve just installed it and left everything as it was. I’ll set everything to zero when I get home and see if that works. I’m printing something that before the software was printing fine, so I know my machine can’t of had a total head fit
It not like I’m getting any squashing either, its just not printing it.
@Jez_Fairclough Just checked again for it and I’m not seeing the option to cut off the bottom of the print in this version either. ??? The only other thing I can see that might result in that effect is a really thick first layer setting. Not all the options show up with values to check???
What happens if you import a profile from v15 and then tweak from there?
Someone on the Makerbot forum has suggested disabling the feature for auto bed on import of file.
So will try that out this evening and see, I know it has to be the software now as I’ve installed the old V15 again, printed the problem file and bang no issue. If I can’t crack it I’ll just stick with what works over wasting filiament.
@Jez_Fairclough I’ve also switched back to using v15. Having too many issues with glitches in the settings of 2.6. Twice now I had prints that started to print before the extruder was all the way heated up and the print started 15 mm off the bed.
@Jeff_Parish I’m the same now, whilst all the new stuff is great I’m having too many issues and loosing too many print jobs to it. Can’t be dealing with the frustration
