Anyone would happen to know where one can get something printed in silicone? need ~50 micron resolution. 3D hubs doesn’t have a lot of choices for silicone. It also has to be high temp silicone.
How about print the mold and cast it yourself if you really can’t find what you need?
Or maybe print the part itself then make the mold out of it.
@Dont_Miyashita Ha! good point… I shouldn’t be doing this at 2 AM.
@Shai_Schechter it’s 11 AM here that’s why. XD
I guess my next question would be - any good leads on what brands to get high temp silicone from? Prototyping socks for our mini hotends
I only buy small batchs from local store so I don’t know what brand is it.
Gonna tag @Alex_Skoruppa as he made some V6 heat socks out of high temp silicone. He might have a brand to recommend.
@Alex_Skoruppa I saw this on Merlin’s blog! But couldn’t find it on Amazon - thanks for the link! I wonder if they ship to USA?
was thinking about sourcing a mini hotend silicone boot and found these powder coating 1/2" endcaps, might work for mini hotend with the tip sliced off and a small metal c-clamp holding it on the heater core. Also considering molding something, but these are good to 315c and the ID of the Mini is .008" less, with wires for thermistor it should fit perfectly… thing is I need two or three, not 50
@Shai_Schechter An acquaintance on another forum is using this stuff for hot block boots: https://www.smooth-on.com/tb/files/MOLD_MAX_60_TB.PDF

@Ryan_Carlyle Do you have pictures/link of the silicone he molded? Would like to see how it turned out for him.
He’s still experimenting, I don’t think he has a vacuum degasser set up yet but you really need one for good results. Here’s the thread link anyway: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/3dp-ideas/0M35AWLIo00
