Are SK6812 pixels supported? I’ve just seen a lot of new led types with white mixtures, RGBW or extra thin profile using this chip, looks like it’s really close to WS2812B?
Data sheet here: http://www.szledcolor.com/download/SK6812%20LED.pdf
And new pixels etc. using it are available here amongst other places: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/group/SK6812-series-pixel-lights/701799_210007653/1.html
From the specs, it is not a RGBW but a RGB device, just like the WS2812b.
Seems like identical data transmission specs to the WS2812b but the PWM frequency is 1.2KHz instead of 400Hz !!!
The specs are slightly different - I’ve just checked in definitions for SK6812 to master on github - but close enough that you could probably use WS2812B as your definition and get away with it.
Note that FastLED doesn’t yet support true RGBW chipsets (strips that are RGB/WWW are kind of supported, you just need to treat every other led as WWW in your own code).
There’s some significant work that will need to be done to fully support RGBW - but I’ve got the hardware to start poking at that.
I’ve got some SK6812 rings and they work fine, just select WS2812B
