That is no comparison, the tb6600 cost about 10 euro/each. I have bought one recently, but haven’t tested it yet
Power supply voltage is something you need to define first. that will rule out some drivers. Voltage will determine the max speed of your motors. But you need a driver that can give enough current to keep your motors happy (and torquey). What you show will work till 2.5A but it is not very robust or flexible. But it is damn cheap. Geckos are very good but expensive. There are others in between like http://es.aliexpress.com/store/product/Leadshine-Stepper-Driver-DM542-work-24-50V-output-1-4-2A-current-work-with-NEMA-23/1738136_32555360642.html?spm=2114.04010208.3.1.rnFteN&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_1,searchweb201602_5_301_10034_507_10020_10001_10002_10017_10010_10005_10011_10006_10021_10003_10004_10022_10009_401_10008_10018_10019,searchweb201603_1&btsid=fbdb9159-d2a2-4fb4-8996-d962a95d52b9
Look the current of your motors to see if you have enough current with the driver you mention or you need a higher one. BTW, one potential problem with the driver you mention is the need of long pulses for the step signal. Double check your controller board has a pulse width that will keep this board happy or motor won’t move a all and you will not know what is going on.
i have a stack of those for various gantrys no complaints so far.
5 amps! They look like they’ll do the deal to me. The real secret is having an adequate power supply anyways. A rectified, and smoothed torus is the best. You want to approach the drives maximum input voltage rating, while allowing for a bit of headroom for back EMF. That will net you top high speed performance. Which is often easier to say, than actually do.
I have 4 controllers DQ542MA (similar with yours, from China producer: WANTAI) and they do (until now!) perfect their job with with NEMA23 4.2Amp/phase.
Being using the same for year with no problems.
I’d probably recommend DM drivers too.
