Arrrrgh!!! Can anyone help me diagnose this fault. The X axis overshoots on layer change and when traveling (when printing seems to be okay).
Anyone seem this before?
In using an Ultimaker 1.5.7 board and Marlin with auto levelling enabled. I’ve checked for a mechanical fault -there is no slipping.
I’ve checked the steeper drivers, they are set to 0.45(ish) volts over the POT. I’ve swapped the x/y drivers and the problem stayed. The x&z motors originally from another machine are hot to touch.
I’m banging my head against the wall. Any information will help.
I turned the travel accel down to 1500mm but didn’t help. I then also turned the travel speed down to 60mm and the problem went away. I think the steeper drivers I bought for the ultimaker board are no good. Previously using a printrboard with integrated drivers I could travel at 200mm+ without a problem.
We had this, turned out to be voltage issue. There’s a ‘tuning’ screw somewhere to adjust it. Best to Google before trying though, see if this is consistent elsewhere and not just on ours.
This maybe a late reply to your issue, but my number one problem with X/Y axis shift was due to an over heating controller board. Try keeping everything the same, but just putting a fan on blowing on your board. What hardware are you using?
