Artistic statues collection output using 3D printer with DC motors

Details??

.

Sorry I’m Korean, so I’m not familiar with the English language. If “squirrel cage” means AC motors…Until recently, conventional 3D Printers use Step motors. But new 3D Printer of “Stellamove Inc.” uses DC motors with encoder.

@Nathan_Walkner I prefer hamsters. More reliable.

I’ve read a bit about encoder printers; capable of more precise moment, but at the cost of being more complex.

Unlike squirrel or hamster, DC motor has more higher torque than step motor, but more complex motor control. So, we independently developed new printing algorithm, new DC motor driver,…

As opposed to stepper motors @Nathan_Walkner …

6 posts ago was your initial question.

Yes, I know what a dc motor is, and I can count. 2 things you seem to have trouble with. I must say I have issues with your coping mechanisms though. You may want to quit while you’re behind.

ffs, I just wanted to help by answering your question. I didn’t know your ego would bruise so easily nor how aggressively you would try to hide your inferiority complex, but hey, noted… now move on pipsqueak.

Anyway if you are ever interested in the actual interesting topic of losing the steppers in 3d printers: http://arduino-pi.blogspot.be/2014/04/using-dc-motors-and-encoders-for-3d.html and http://www.3ders.org/articles/20140116-dc-motor-powered-rapy-3d-printer-made-in-korea.html have some interesting points.

I’d sure like to see more 3D printers use servomotors. I wish I knew of an economical way to do it.

@Joongho_Choe
Why and what does the algorithm do?
Servo motor control for CNC has been around for ages.
I don’t see any slicing algorithm to be affected. So it could only be g-code interpretation and motor control.

@Marcus_Wolschon We didn’t change slicing algorithm. Basically, we use Gcode based Cura slice Engine, and convert GCode for our 3d printer’s firmware. Our main printing algorithm is closed loop control(position feedback control) for anti-shock and high accuracy.

There is youtube for our printing stability against shock at https://youtu.be/eXoiGOQg-pE of 1st model and https://youtu.be/iMN8G-ue89A of prototype . Sorry this is old movie, 1 year ago…
