Assembled my BQ Cyclop Scanner kit from @LulzBot tonight with my daughter. The quick and dirty of the build was it took about 2 hours with a 6 year old doing the bulk of the work and me directing. After she went to bed it went much faster.

The prints are great and the kit is extremely well thought out. I’m impressed so far. I didn’t get to the scan/software yet. Will do more and have a more thought out write in a couple days.

Let us know, how well calibration and scanning goes. (bright room, reflecting surface, small details, exact physical dimensions,…)

Would love to hear your feedback on this thing.

Just waiting to hear your feedback on this scanner.

I am assuming you can scan parts to export to a CAD program to recreate the part?

You can scan point clouds, use meshlab to convert them into polygons and good CAD programs can either load meshes alongside CSG geometries or try to detect features and construct CSG geometries to match the polygons.

I also finished building mine. The back cover is severely warped, and I contacted bq, but have not heard back in two days. Will try scanning this weekend

Man mine was perfect. All of the parts were.

All the parts were what?

Perfect

Did my first scans today. I’m not great at mesh lab but set next to the 3-30k$/scanners we use at work I’m Impressed.

Do,you, have a pic? I will play with mine tomorrow

Did you manage to scan with 2 lasers?

Yea. Went pretty great I’ll post pictures later today I hope
