At this years “Faux Mo” nightclub event at the MOFO Arts Festival in Hobart Tasmania, I created a bunch of LED Suits worn by Actors for the evening. These are APA102 Strips driven by a ESP8266 (not using fastled). They walked around the huge complex acting like electric ghosts. Looked so cool on the night!
Amazing work. I love the animations. The one with the individual pixels moving reminds me of marbles running down a track.
@Brian_Lewis Cheers mate, I was very pleased with the results, as were all the wasted party goers
Those look like fantastic party fun!
I liked a lot. My new project is similar. Costume for stillt walking. Do you think ws2812 can be good or I need apa102? For pov poi apa 102 is recommended but for costume i think ws2812 is bether because have 3 wire and lower price. I think to use 750-1000 leds with teensy.
@Saso_Dzuljo_Petrovsk I have stopped using WS2812, they pose to many issues. They have a maximum refresh rate, which is much slower than APA102, but id really depends on what animation syou are planning on running. I am keen to see your progress? You got a blog or instagram account i can follow?
