Aurora Labs canceled their Kickstarter! Why?

Aurora Labs:
After ongoing discussions with Kick starter we have decided to withdraw from Kick starter as we are unable to meet certain criteria they require for a project. Their requirements would require us to reveal certain IP that we are not willing to at this stage and if we do not reveal it they would have to take off pledges for the Metal Printers…

Shocking eh. If you go to their link its just web store via wordpress to buy the printer. Seems shady to me.

I don’t believe them on the IP. They don’t give me any impression that their technology is special, and I don’t think they’ve really solved basic problems.

I also think they need to show some more challenging parts built by this machine. A few tiny parts and none of them have overhangs - forget it.

Interesting, I suppose there was a suggestion from a backer that what they proposed was not possible, and in order to explain it to KS (and presumably the backer’s) satisfaction would reveal too much about what the printer can (and more importantly cannot) do. Sad really.
