bCNC on a Raspberry Pi3

Hi all,
just bought a 3 axis router, and as i hate been connected to a computer with Mach3, I wish to install bCNC on a Raspberry pi3 and use my smoothieboard as a stand alone CNC controller, can be possible?
Can anyone help me and tell me the procedure to download the dependencies and install them correctly on my PI3?(i have the official 7" touchscreen)
Unfortunately i am not an expert Linux guy……
But i am happy to learn.
Regards

Hey !

Yes, you can use bCNC to control Smoothieboard as a stand-alone controller.
For the installation specifics, I don’t know anything more than what is in the bCNC documentation.
Maybe try that, and if it doesn’t work, ask in the bCNC community ?
Or maybe somebody else here will know.

Cheers !

Hey!!
Thanks a lot for help, i will look there and see if i find some help
Cheers!!

Last question,
Is the raspberry connected and comunicate with smoothie by lan cable then?
If not, how is done?
Thanks a lot!!

bCNC only knows how to talk via USB, you need to have a short cable between the Smoothieboard and the Raspi

ALL good!!!
works perfectly,
Raspberry pi3, super fast, and the 7" screen is big enough to use the touch.
Smoothie is responding 100%
Thanks
