Bearing Lube?
I’ve got access to everything from graphite (Pinewood Derby) to Way Lube (the thick oil used to lubricate Lathes), Mobile 1, Silicone and Machine oil…
What’s recommended for lubricating the linear bearings on these printers?

Clear lithium grease, which usually comes in cartridges for grease guns. Cheap, effective and longer-lasting than any oil.
Available in rc model shops in small quantities rather than big tubes.
Naw man, don’t buy the small 20g tubes for RC cars - half a pound is around 4€ at your friendly car parts/accessories shop, and it’s pretty much universally usable - so once you have it at hand, you’ll find yourself going through a lot more than you originally thought you’d need.
Awesome, thanks!
If you want a lube that is an oil rather than a grease I recommend superlube it has a suspension of ptfe particles. The ptfe works wonders and lasts a long time.
I use sewing machine oil. Singer.
Well, Lithium Grease worked pretty good. I guess I can try one per leg and see how they work over time (but all the prints will have a list to them)…
Linear bearings are surprisingly fun to play with.
sewing machine oil, anything else gathers dust and gets dirty and grimy. This should be a daily routine of cleaning and application. I use makeup cotton rounds.
