Bearings bearing bearings, where do you get your bearings?
I bought some cheap 625-ZZ on ebay, and they are a tag stiff, a tad wobbly and just not fun at all.

Packs of ten on Amazon

I’ve found that RS type (sealed) bearings aren’t much more expensive, but come in a more consistent quality.

But generally, ebay.

i bought a bunch from this guy on ebay, they seem pretty good… http://stores.ebay.com/gilbert-hardware-store/Bearings-/_i.html?_fsub=3259527010

At the risk of sounding like a broken record the ones from fushi on Aliexpress.com have been working for me. Smooth, good tolerances, no apparent play and well packaged.

Dang it @Tim_Rastall , that’s the second thing I bought from aliexpress today. I bought a spool of white LEDs for 6 bucks as well. That’s the price of 2 beers with tip, can’t beat it

@Eric_Moy 2 beers and a tip for 6 bucks? Man, it’s no wonder American beer is like having sex in a boat. Those LEDs are good BTW - awesome for lighting up print areas.

Yeah, that’s my plan. I’m looking to build a frame like yours but use core xy and my existing rod and linear bearings. Once I map out my belt lines, I’ll buy the right length of GT2 and a couple pulleys. I’ll probably upgrade from my sang board to a sainsmart RAMPS and MEGA board. What a long, expensive road this will be

@Eric_Moy Yeah, but a fun one  I can recommend the RUMBA if you can stretch that far; many more outputs and generally a step up from RAMPS. If it helps, here is the draft BOM for the Ingentis

I’ve gotten lots of bearings from http://vxb.com . Decent selection, and good prices.

@Tim_Rastall awesome, thanks. Looks like the rumba is only about $25 more than the stuff from China, pretty worth it for added growth, which is the whole reason for upgrading from sang board. I’ll probably reuse the sang board to start, and hopefully prices will drop by the time I plan to upgrade the board. I just ordered a raspberry pi to run octoprint, so I’ve already started straying from my original bom :o/

Sorry for hijacking this thread

It’s not better, it’s more-er. A lot more outputs and stuff. Like if you want triple hotends, or you want to put wheels on your printer and have it follow you around the house. That kind of thing.

My new build is sitting idle with a bad rumba that has a flaky usb connection, hopefully the megatronics I’ve got coming will be better.

@scott_maher did you try the direct connect pin header USB interface on the RUMBA? Reprap discount replaced mine without question when I found a fault with a stepper port. @John_Ridley I intend to run 3 or 4 extruders pretty soon but there are several other advantages over RAMPS:
-Screw terminals
-2 Extra 12v out interfaces for fans or heat chamber
-12-30v input tollerance
-Nicer layout

Sorry @Shachar_Weis for deviating from bearings.

Thanks @Tim_Rastall , I did try the usb pin header, and from my reading around others have had similar issues. I’ll try and send it back for a replacement all the same.

Just email their support folk via the website. They are a bit slow but they just sent me a replacement after I complained about no response. Didn’t ask for faulty board back.
