Bed Adhesion - one of many key areas - became my nemesis this time

Bed Adhesion - one of many key areas - became my nemesis this time around. I was trying to print an object with a small base… Heated bed not curing all adhesion ills…

My best PLA solution is to cover the bed with Kapton tape and put a coat of glue stick over the the area where the model will print. This stops it detaching. A bed temp of 60-70c helps with warping.

Yes, adhesion can be a bitch. When I first started on my adventure with 3d printing, I decided to go for ABS only.
Tried it with kapton tape on glass. Didn’t work out to good. Kapton tape is not that expensive as such, but it becomes expensive with a big heated bed and numerous accidents where the tape got damaged. Tried it with hairspray. But the brands of hairspray that seems to work for a lot of folks, is not available in the Netherlands. So, after trying several brands I got a little desperate. Until I discovered 3DLAC. Since then all my problems vanished. Last friday I tried PLA for the first time, and to my big surprise 3DLAC worked even better with PLA. I would recommend this to everyone having problems with adhesion. Just spray it on a heated bed, and print. That’s all.
Oh, and it worked with nylon too. (618)

I don’t normally have adhesion issues. I squash my first layer as much as possible, print it slowly, and use very large brims on small objects.

Also worth looking out for the Z lift option in your slicer (most have one now). For tall prints this can really help prevent them being dislodged by the nozzle.

if you are printing with ABS i suggest you to use ABS-juice to get maximum adhesion on the printing bed

Using just PLA so far. Will try all these suggestions and post more results. thanks!
