Been playing with our MarkForged printer... incredibly impressed by the results.

Been playing with our MarkForged printer… incredibly impressed by the results. Not a huge fan, thus far, of Eiger.io (the slicing engine/software), but the parts are beautiful. We’ll be doing a video and some testing on these printed carabiners. This is nylon with 6 concentric walls of carbon fiber and 30 total layers of CF. 50% nylon infill. INSANELY strong.

Is very popular at my company’s office as well.

A mountain climber’s carabiner?

I wouldn’t use it for climbing, but I expect it to be able support well over 200lbs before failure

That’s quite amazing. Fifty pounds for PLA by comparison?

No. I doubt PLA would make it past 30lbs. We printed one in PETG and it didn’t make 50lbs.

We’ll be trying a bunch of filaments - PLA, ABS, PET/PETG, Nylon, PC, PC-ABS, and XTCF. They’ll all be in the video.

The Mark1 Prints are INSANELY strong. It’s hard to describe it till you feel it. I’m sure you can’t even bend that thing on it’s weakest points
