Been trying to finish up my delta design. Taking a lot of elements from @Eclsnowman@Alex_Lee and the Talos line. Really excited for this build. The verticals are 2020 and 1m tall and all others are 480mm with the front panel being a 2060 and the rest 2020. Think this will be strong enough? Those two rods are braces and will house the extruders and they will also have printed mounts to connect with the horizontals. I need feedback so please let me know what I need to fix.
I was just lucky enough to be able to help him being a CAD monkey
@Griffin_Paquette excited to see your build taking shape. I love new and different builds the most, that’s what keeps this hobby so interesting. So many variants out there that keep pushing things forward.
I wouldn’t go over 800mm columns spans (measured between horizontals) with 2020 personally, and that’s assuming rigid metal joints between the horizontals and uprights. For plastic vertices, I wouldn’t go over maybe 600mm with 2020. You can go big if you add triangle cross-bracing though.
@Ryan_Carlyle I was thinking of adding some braces from the verticals to the horizontals. I can always add them in but perhaps I’ll leave as is for now
@Griffin_Paquette my spacing is 86mm to accommodate the ATX power supply. How many bolts are you using to mount your side rail to the corner piece? I recommend two bolts per corner to attach one end of the side. If you haven’t already bought the side rails I would recommend using a 20x60 and make your corners 60mm tall. Then mount wil 6 bolts two top two middle two bottom on each corner for each side. Hope that makes sense. You also only need to do this at the bottom. The top sides can be the 20x20.
