Big mistake and a suggestion

Hi,

probably made the worst mistake today. I connected 24V to the 5V input. I guess the board is probably fried even though I still get an USB connection. What’s the expert’s opinion here. Is there any hope?

Also having made this mistake and of course it’s my fault, I do have a few suggestions that might help others to not make it:

1.) The large 5V text on the board was covered with an overly large quality control sticker. Maybe you could pick a smaller one or place it on the bottom. Not sure how the manufacturing of the boards is done, maybe that’s feedback for Robotseed.
2.) My bag of connectors had green two pin connectors for power as well as the high power outputs. If it was a four pin connector instead, there’s no way to wrongly plug it in (once it’s set up correctly). An alternative would be different connectors for 5V and VBB and maybe even the outputs.

Thanks…

If it still connects over USB you might be lucky and it might still be functionning. I would try using it and see what happens.

Bonjour
