Bought a leadscrew and nut frim a Chinese vendor in eBay, this is the nut. Spot the problem…
Its direct from china?
Chinese vendor, UK warehouse.
Hmm. Someone doesnt QC received product.
Not a big issue as it was for the FB2020 Plus, which has the same type of leadscrew, so the nut’s already there, I’m more amused at it than anything else.
Can someone tell me what is wrong? I don’t get it…
Drill press time.
@Whosa_whatsis - not with mine… it’s cheap and has far too much play to do anything that needs to be accurately done.
@Nathan_Walkner @Folke_Schwinning - I’ll give you a clue where are the bolts to hold it in place meant to go? xD
wow crazy that they aren’t drilled. Send the supplier a pic and bet they will send you new ones.
Then just drill the old ones
@Ax_Smith-Laffin Damn, that is embarrassing. But nothing that a little spit and duct tape couldn’t fix
@Ax_Smith-Laffin One of the most useful things you can learn is how to do high-precision work with low-precision tools (and, of course learning when that precision is/isn’t necessary).
No mounting holes… Lol
@Whosa_whatsis - I do that sort of stuff regularly, think Maplin or Home Depot cheap 30w soldering Iron with a massive tip on a PCB… My good Station is at work, so I have to make do. I don’t exactly trust my drill press not to make slots instead of holes on something like that
and that is why you do not buy cheap
@Hakan_Evirgen - Compared to some I’ve seen, it was a mid-range price, and for that I at least expect some form of QC. Sure, it’s never going to be as good as one from a company such as Misumi, but I have to make do with some parts.
My experience is that Chinese product and Quality Control don’t even fit on the same page.
@Ax_Smith-Laffin actually with the term cheap I did not only mean the price. Most chinese manufacturers are cheap…
