[sarcasm]Gee, why did you get an Ultimaker 2 when you already had a Makerbot 5th Gen?[/sarcasm] Hahaha, we did a comprehensive review of the 5th Gen and compared it to our Reps 2s over on 3D Print Board. Our review was fair, objective, documented, and scathing.

Why not use the mbi filament in the ultimaker
the spools do not fit the ultimaker, ultimaker2 don’t print 1.75 mm filament
Hi, Makerbot 5Gen was the worst purchase I ever done in my life, I lost the count of the number of problems this machine gave me. After 6 months I returned the printer to Makerbot and got a refund. I’m very happy with the Ultimaker 2, in all the aspects, Americans are miles away from the Dutch regarding 3D Printing. I’m located in the Netherlands.
We certainly agree with you Luis, and we are even Makerbot dealers! We hate the 5th Gen, but love the older Rep 2s. Interestingly, the main reason we do not carry Ultimakers is that they are in the Netherlands, and shipping is prohibitive. But we have Lulzbots, which are manufactured about a 2 hour drive from our 3D printing store, very convenient. The Lulzbots are great machines and Aleph Objects is a great company to do business with.
