Brad Carter 's Big Blue Buko is running,

@Brad_Carter 's Big Blue Buko is running, just have to make some small adjustments to the end stops to get the full 12" platform + hook up the silicon HBP. For now, an 8" cold plate PLA will suffice.

We’re using a QUBD mod with @Whosa_whatsis spring loaded MK7 replacement for 1.75 filament. It’s not a jaw dropping combo but I had great results with another mod like this but with a Honeywell extruder. This is simple mod works really well IMO.

Problem is, there is no Marlin thermistor chart for the hotend so I’m running inaccurately at what’s “recommended” by a few others (100k Epcos.) The solid fill looks nice but I get jamming at infill, I suspect it’s from heat climbing the barrel. The PLA just falls out super quick at 210, and at 190 it behaves more normally until infill. Yet when removed, the filament end feels colder than it should and has a thin neck between the tip and drive portion (stretching from pulling out I think.)

I’m not making the progress I would have hoped by just lower the temps and I’ve read these QUBD extruders as is tend to be sensitive to a particular temperature. This temperature seems to flux more than I like, jumping +/- 10-15C during temp change after first layer.

What do you all recommend? Anyone else got this extruder?

Note: what’s weird is that when I first loaded this machine, green and orange plastic flowed out…but this machine has never been used before. Maybe QUBD swapped a used one and didn’t clean it completely? I better do a nylon cold pull to be sure it’s clear.

Great looking printer!

Your perimeter looks great, maybe slightly over extruded.

Seems the fill is running much to quick.

Are the speed settings similar?

I second the nylon pull.

Just to update everyone on this, I got leaking after switching to a honeywell. I installed a new 1.75 barrel/nozzle and that instantly worked like a charm. We are getting reliable extrusion, with no x/y issues (so far) on the larger 9" build platform that can later be expanded to 12".
