Building a Mostly Printed CNC for #FFo3DP
Day one:
It was a kit from ebay. I don’t know if it has a brand. http://www.ebay.com/itm/351598473237
Took a while to get all the bugs worked out, but it’s printing like a champ now.
Yes the Brand id RepRap and the Model is Prusa i3. I have one too but slightly different. But may I make a suggestion to get some mirrored glass cut and place it on the bed to print! Printing on tape sucks and you use up soo much!
@Scottie_D369 Nice! Good suggestions Scottie. Mine was also printing like a charm, but then just recently the small fused popped for the heated bed and now it’s doing some weird stuff lol. New board in tow coming from China, but could not find it anywhere else… Anyone ha e any suggestions where to purchase parts in the USA?
What kind of board? Mine is a GT2560 clone and I blew the bed fuse as well (actually, I think the fuse holder can’t handle the bed amperage). I just soldered an automotive fuse to the board via some short leads:
@Wayne_Hoxsie mine is the same board GT2560 and probably a clone. Tried to do the same thing Wayne, but when I pulled the fuse holder it pulled the connections right from the board… 
. So it looks like a new board will be in tow. 
Bummer @SKULLKANDY_Design . My fuse holder disintegrated when I pulled the fuse out, so I just soldered directly to the metal parts already soldered to the board. Note to self: don’t mess with it. I had planned on trying to solder a new fuse holder to the board, but I think I’ll stick with what I’ve got.
@Wayne_Hoxsie Yeah… It is what it is. At least on I’ll be getting a authentic GT board as I purchased one right from Geetech. 
Don’t mess with it lol, down to a flat spot on the board and might try to do something with the older one after I get the new one in. Just stinks cause I have a few projects that I was working on and now I probably will not get it till near the end of the month lol. I think I’ve been speaking to you as well in the Reprap forums .
