Can any body help me get rid of this final finish pass, or tell me where do I need to adjust the settings to accelerate the process of this final finish pass? Thanks in advance!! I’m using meshcam.

It’s most likely the pencil line clean up.
@Marc_Schaefermeyer
Hey Marc!
So, what do u suggest? This one step takes for ever… I’m wondering if it’s possible to skip this clean up?? This will accelerate the cut time by almost 50%…
Thanks again Maestro!
Yes it’s possible to remove it. You have to make sure your depth per pass equals your stock depth.
@Marc_Schaefermeyer
Ok… so, if I’m doing 2 1/32" passes in a 1/16" plate… wouldn’t that get rid of it? or do I need to un-check from meshcam? I tried unchecking it, but it greys everything out…
Thanks!
@Marc_Schaefermeyer
Sorry Marc… I take that back… I was able to uncheck the pencil clean up… but this brings another question: What happens if I don’t do a pencil clean up?
It might be possible your part won’t be completely cut out.
@Marc_Schaefermeyer I’m cutting a small sample… I’ll u know what it does… Thanks Marc
@javierymirna based on your video, it looks like you are cutting out a 2d part. Most everything I cut 2d I use makercam. It is just easier to be able to add the cuts you need vs relying on the software to decide it for you.
@Marc_Schaefermeyer
yeah… I have a couple 2.5d… It meshcam might be overkill for the 2d parts… right?
@Marc_Schaefermeyer
I’m getting frustrated… lol
@Marc_Schaefermeyer I just remembered that the problem with makercam is the svg files…
I wonder if theres a software that converts STL to SVG?
can you post a screenshot of your MeshCAM settings?
When I have done STL to SVG I used sketchup and some export plugin. Of you can get your part as a DXF you can use inkscape to generate the SVG file. Just remember to change the preferences in makercam to 90px/in.
@Marc_Schaefermeyer Yo Marc! I guess what this thing is doing is the Parallel Finish!!
I’m unchecking it for the next cut…
Yeah @javierymirna that could be it as well. Sorry I didn’t think of that one.
