Are you sure that you selected the correct display in your configuration.h?
I tried the REPRAP_DISCOUNT_SMART_CONTROLLER option
My display is a 2004 lcd… I hope?

plug the printer into a computer. Use any host program, Repetier, Pronterface, OctoPrint etc.
Type into the gcode serial box, M503
This will print out on screen the firmware and all settings you are using.
You have to restart the controler, check thr mol configuration under lpk. But stay away from repetier and octoprint
@Kye_brits I think you want the full graphics controller. The smart controller has the 5 buttons the graphic one has the knob

@Andrew_Miller that is not a full graphics display, you can see the individual character matrices, it’s a 20x4 character LCD. The full graphics LCD is one giant dot matrix display.
