Can anyone recommend a filament sensor that detects for tangled /no feed situations?

Can anyone recommend a filament sensor that detects for tangled /no feed situations?

Trying to find a reliable solution that is also a good price.

Using a wanhao i3 touch printer

Don’t know specifically what kind of inputs you have on your printer, but I use the Tunell monitor on several printers and it works well. Sends a pause command after so many seconds of not registering any filament motion. If you have a pause input on the controller it will work. https://www.toybuilderlabs.com/products/tunell-3d-printer-filament-monitor

@Ryan_Carlyle I’m going to set up an octoprint pi thingie so that could handle the “pause” function

How do you use yours?

From what I’ve read, it’s best to not only pause, but lift the hot end up a bit so it doesn’t do evil things to your print

@Martin_Dolan all my controllers have a hardwire pause input that runs a “pause, stay hot, and move the extruder away from the print” routine. I assume you can do that with Octoprint too.

Sparklabs fts . Works with repetier on any printer

The Duet guys have been developing sensors for this.
