Can anyone suggest a good cheapish starter CNC? Based in the UK.
Cheapish is a relative term. Give us a range for what you want to spend.
@Jon_Beverley it all depends on your pocket, but check this out for a starter.
@Jon_Beverley
Don’t know if you have been on Mycnc, but worth a look as there are 2nd hand units up for grabs.
Ok so perhaps up to a grand? Looking at ooznest, what the differences between the OX and the C-Beam? Are they both compatible with LaserWeb?
@Jon_Beverley The ox is a gantry unit where the gantry and router moves over the work area. The C beam is where the work area moves under the router. It’s all down to what you want to do with them really. If you research in openbuilds then you will learn about capabilities with each design.
@Jon_Beverley sorry. Forgot to answer the laserweb question. If you are ok with DIY you could buy the mechanical kit only then put in your own electronics to suit LW and openware otherwise if you speak to them then will guide you through what’s needed.
I know they did that for my friend as he had no knowledge of electronics or how it worked so brought the whole openware electronics kit of them.
