Can somebody help me with calculations for volume designs? i have an idea for cocktails but i need to make shapes to contain a certain volume in millilitre / Ounce…

i was thinking about a taper… for example
http://thingiverse-rerender.s3.amazonaws.com/renders/68/66/89/92/2f/shotglass_preview_featured.jpg is a idea of the design but with specific volume on a certain level of filling… for example… print like that but with a line in the inside representing 15 ml and other print with same OD and same flat bottem… but height beeing the adjustment for example a 30ml volume to that inside line

Probably cones/frustrums, if it’s cocktails.

  1. Google “cone volume formula”
  2. Calculate volume for full cone extended from your shape
  3. Calculate volume for just the extended part
  4. Subtract.
    You can figure out the height for whatever measurement line you want from there.
    BTW: No filament, nor extruder is currently rated as “food safe”.

CAD tools can give you those numbers also. You may have to put an end on the container.
